May 07, 2008 Anupam Sharma On Sunday, April 27, 2008, South Asian Broadcasters of Manitoba in association with Winnipeg-1 Universal Productions hosted their third annual dinner at the Royal Crown Banquet Hall, 83 Garry Street. This year, the occasion was marked by the presence of chief guests, Lt. Governor John Harvard and Premier Gary Doer. Other dignitaries and guests from Winnipeg and Toronto were also present.
May 22, 2008 Anupam Sharma On May 4th, 2008, the Panjab Cultural and Seniors Centre held its Vaisakhi dinner at the Royal Crown Banquet Hall, 83 Garry Street. For quite some time, the event had long been sold-out. Approximately 550 people attended the dinner.
Jun 12, 2008 Anupam Sharma Within the Pakistani community in Manitoba, Dr. Naseer Warraich is respected and seen as a leader. He serves as Chairperson (akin to Chairman of the Board) of the Association of Pakistani-Canadians of Manitoba Inc. With the President, ensuring efficient and smooth operation of the organization, Dr. Warraich’s role is more in providing a vision and strategic direction for the organization.
Mar 20, 2008 Anupam Sharma Tiffin refers to light lunch and, in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) it is lunch prepared at home and then delivered to usually men at their place of work. The tiffin-wallas (also known as dabba-wallhas) pick up these lunch boxes from home and deliver to customers across the city. Once lunch is completed, the empty tiffin is delivered back at home.

Masaala movies are pure entertainment and, it is these that are usually referred to as “song and dance” cinema.
